Taiwanese with travel history in PH tests positive for Covid-19

A 30-year-old male Taiwanese national who traveled to the Philippines tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control (CDC) confirmed Thursday.

The said patient resides in northern Taiwan and is the 44th case of Covid-19 in the said country.

The Taiwan CDC said he visited the Philippines from Feb. 28 to Mar. 3. He had diarrhea on Mar. 2. He went to a clinic for having dry throat and tiredness the day after, and was declared a suspected case on Mar. 4.

The patient contracted the disease on Mar. 5, Taiwan confirmed, citing a related investigation that suggests “it is an imported case linked to the Philippines.”
