DepEd: No need for class suspension in high schools nationwide amid COVID-19 threat

The Department of Education (DepEd) on Monday said there is no need for class suspensions in high schools nationwide amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak.

In a radio interview, DepEd Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del Pascua said that class suspensions depend on the alert level raised by the Department of Health (DOH) in the country with regard to the new virus.

Pascua noted that suspension of classes only happens on alert levels 3 and 4.

This means there is no need for class suspensions as the DOH lowered the alert level from 2 to 1 following the recovery of the remaining two of the three positive Covid-19 cases in the country.
