Palace eases 'red-tagging' fears

The Palace assured on Sunday that the Duterte administration will not harm journalists following Cagayan De Oro Pess Club (COPC) denouncing the “red-tagging” of journalists in the city.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo stated that journalists who are not linked to the communist movement should not be worried.

Panelo added that the President ”just ignores” those who openly criticize him.

Earlier, COPC condemened in “strongest terms” the “propaganda” linking their media group to the Commmunist Party of the Philippines.

COPC President Manuel Jaudian disclosed that some of their members protested in support of ABS-CBN's franchise renewal when a courier delivered posters accusing them of being members of the communist group.
