Some churgoers agree to CBCP's recommended measures vs. Covid-19

Some churchgoers agree to the measures recommended by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) after the country was declared under a State of Public Health Emergency due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019.

Among the changes recommended by the CBCP were the emptying of the holy water fonts, avoiding the passing of monetary donations, and prohibiting the kissing and touching of sacred images.

A number of churchgoers agree to the recommended measures as it is to ensure their safety against the virus.

For some, it is both good and bad, saying some changes were traditions done for the Lord.

The CBCP earlier assured that the measures “do not change the traditions of the Church but rather are temporary precautions during the time of crisis.”
