President Rodrigo Duterte has gone through testing for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Sen. Bong Go said on Thursday following the shut down of the Senate building to be disinfected over an exposure scare.

The president has been tested because he has been in regular contact with some officials who have been exposed to people who tested positive for the bug that is causing Covid-19.

Go has also been tested, saying it is just “prudent” for them to take precautionary measures in compliance with the advice of health officials.

Earlier, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the President and Go have opted to undergo the test to ensure that they are fit and health to perform their duties as government workers.
