Malacañang warns public: Stop panic buying or face arrest


Malacañang warned the public to stop hoarding basic and key commodities or face arrest.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the hoarding will trigger price hikes beyond their regular price.

Panelo said those who will take advantage of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 crisis will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Panelo called on the people to refrain from panic buying and advised to buy only what they need.

The Department of Trade and Industry reminded traders of the strict implementation of the 60-day price freeze on all basic commodities as the country copes with the threat of the virus.
