Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Ano disclosed on Tuesday the code red sub 1 policies that will take effect in all municipalities under the National Capital Region (NCR) amid the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) threat rising.
Ano said that the mayors present in the meeting are "in unison" or agreement for the NCR-wide policies to be implemented which include: suspension of classes from March 10-14 and unified social distancing.
The DILG secretary encouraged the private sectors to implement similar measures to contain the virus by adopting social distancing for their employees and arranging their work schedules.
He added that public transportation stations such as the MRT, LRT among others will have sanitizers on every exit and entrance as a precautionary measure against the disease.
Meantime, Metropolitan Development Authority General Director Jojo Garcia said that the government will closely monitor changes regarding the COVID-19 cases in the NCR throughout the week and deliberate what the “next step” will be.
